25 Prophets Flashcards – Meet the Prophets Named in the Qur'an
Who built the Ark? Who was thrown into a well by his brothers? Who led his people across the sea? This bright, printable set helps children meet the 25 prophets mentioned by name in the Qur'an, one card at a time, from Adam (AS) all the way to Muhammad ﷺ.
Each prophet has a large, colourful card with a picture from his story, his name in English and Arabic, and a short story in simple words. The cards are clear enough to hold up in front of a class and friendly enough for a child to read alone.
What is on every card
- The card number, from 1 to 25, so the prophets stay in order
- The prophet's name in English, with the honorific beneath it
- A Qur'an reference where his name appears
- A colourful picture that matches the story
- The Arabic name with tashkeel
- A short story written in simple words
Pictures children will remember
Every picture comes from the prophet's own story: the fruit tree for Adam (AS), the Ark for Nuh (AS), the Kaaba for Ibrahim (AS), the well and the stars for Yusuf (AS), the parted sea for Musa (AS), the crown for Sulaiman (AS) and the great fish for Yunus (AS). The prophets themselves are never drawn.
For school and classroom teachers
There is no preparation beyond printing and cutting. Introduce a prophet of the week, hold the card up at circle time or assembly, and add it to a timeline on the wall. Use the cards for a quick "Who am I?" quiz, a sorting activity or a starting point for discussion in RE and Islamic studies lessons.
For madrasah and Islamic studies teachers
The set gives you a ready-made unit on the prophets. Teach one card per lesson, practise reading the Arabic names with tashkeel, and ask children to put the cards in order from 1 to 25. Older students can look up the Qur'an reference on each card and read the ayah together.
For homeschooling families and parents
Read one card together at bedtime or after Qur'an time, talk about what the prophet did, and let your child tick him off on the chart. The short stories are a gentle first step before longer books about the prophets.
For children
Learn the names, spot the pictures and tell the stories. Can you remember all 25? Mix the cards up, put them back in order, and test your family and friends.
Two bonus cards
- My Prophets Chart: all 25 prophets listed with a tick box beside each, to track progress
- Parents and Teachers guide: simple ideas for using the set, including read and say, put in order, "Who am I?" and look it up
