Good Manners Flashcards – 25 Islamic Manners for Home and Classroom

Good manners are easier to learn when children can see them, say them and practise them one at a time. This bright, printable set gives you 25 everyday manners, each on its own large card with a matching picture and a short explanation in simple words. The cards are clear enough to hold up in front of a class and friendly enough for a child to read alone.

    What is on every card

    • The card number, from 1 to 25
    • The manner to practise, such as Say Bismillah, Always Tell the Truth or Use Kind Words
    • A short, catchy heading that is easy to remember
    • A colourful picture that matches the manner
    • A simple explanation written in a child's own voice

The Bismillah and Alhamdulillah cards also show the phrase in Arabic with tashkeel.

    The 25 manners cover

    • Worship and remembrance: saying Bismillah and Alhamdulillah, praying five times, making du'a, loving Allah
    • Family and elders: being kind to parents, respecting elders and teachers
    • Friends and others: sharing, helping, forgiving, smiling, using kind words, keeping promises
    • Character: telling the truth, being grateful, being brave
    • Daily life and the world: keeping clean, eating halal, reading and learning, caring for animals and nature, helping the needy

    For school and classroom teachers

There is no preparation beyond printing and cutting. Choose a manner of the week, hold the card up at circle time or assembly, and put it on the board as a reminder. Use the cards to open a discussion, set up a short role-play, or reward children when they show the manner in class. Over a term the cards build into a wall display the class can refer back to.

For madrasah and Islamic studies teachers

The set works as a ready-made akhlaq and adab unit for younger classes. Teach one card per lesson, link it to what the children already know, and revisit earlier cards as a quick recall activity. The short sentences make the cards suitable for mixed ages and reading levels.

    For homeschooling families and parents

Pick one card for the week and practise it together at home. Read it at breakfast, look for chances to do it during the day, and talk about it at bedtime. Children can keep their own set and take pride in ticking off each manner.

    For students

Each card says what to do and why, in words children understand. They can read the cards on their own, test each other, or use them as prompts for writing and drawing.

    Two bonus cards

    • My Manners Chart: all 25 manners on one card with a tick box beside each, to track progress
    • Parents and Teachers guide: simple ideas for using the set, including manner of the week, read and talk, and act it out
