Islamic Calendar Flashcards for Kids – 12 Hijri Months in Arabic and English
Help every child know the months of the Islamic year by name.
Ramadan, Eid, Hajj and the Day of Ashura all follow the Islamic calendar, yet many children can name only one or two of its months. These bright, friendly flashcards introduce all twelve, one card at a time, so learners can read each name, say it aloud and remember what makes that month special.
Each month card shows the month number, its name in English, what the name means, the name in large Arabic with full tashkeel, and one simple fact written in easy English.
For students and families
- One month per card, so there is never too much to take in at once
- Numbered 1 to 12, making it easy to learn the months in the right order
- Large, clear Arabic to read and say together
- A short fact on every card that links the month to something children already know, such as fasting in Ramadan or Hajj in Dhul-Hijjah
- A tick-off months chart to track progress as each month is learned
For teachers
- Hold up a card and ask the class to read the Arabic name aloud
- Mix the cards and ask pupils to put the months back in order
- Read out a fact and ask which month it belongs to
- Display the current month's card on the wall and change it as the year moves on
- A guide card with ideas for using the set is included
For schools, madrasahs and institutions
- A ready-made resource for teaching the Islamic calendar, with nothing to prepare beyond printing
- Consistent layout and wording across every card
- The 4 sacred months are highlighted on their own card and on the chart, with the Quran reference (Surah At-Tawbah 9:36)
