Shocking Benefits Of Reciting the Holy Quran During Ramadan

Shocking Benefits Of Reciting the Holy Quran During Ramadan

Being born a Muslim (Alhamdolillah), we learned that Allah the Almighty revealed the Holy Quran during the blessed month of Ramadan, thus making it a truly special time. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stressed the importance of reciting the Quran during this month. In one well-known narration, he mentioned that reciting just one verse in Ramadan earns the same rewards as reciting the entire Quran in other months. This shows how rewarding it is to connect with the Quran during Ramadan.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

"Whenever you sight the new moon (of the month of Ramadan) observe fast. and when you sight it (the new moon of Shawwal) break it, and if the sky is cloudy for you, then observe fast for thirty days."

Ramadan is on the most special month throughout a year, unlike any other in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that during this month, good deeds are multiplied, sins are forgiven, and it's a time of blessings, repentance, and striving for paradise.

Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) encouraged us to stay away from anything forbidden, recite the Quran often, pray to Allah for our needs, and remember Him abundantly. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also reminded us not to treat Ramadan like any other month, as it holds a unique and elevated status in Allah’s eyes.

There is on hadith I absolutely love, Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

"When there comes the month of Ramadan, the gates of mercy are opened, and the gates of Hell are locked and the devils are chained."

It is recommended that we finish reciting complete Holy Quran at least once during Ramadan. During this blessed month, many Muslims aim to complete the entire Quran at least once, some even translate to better understand the meaning. It’s said that reciting just one verse of the Quran in Ramadan is equivalent to reciting the entire Quran in other months, making this an incredible opportunity for immense rewards.

The best way to complete the Quran in Ramadan is by reading one juz’ (section) each day. Let’s put it that way, the Quran is divided into 30 juz’, finishing one juz’ daily ensures that the entire Quran is recited by the end of the month.

There is one more very important thing all Muslims should aware of and is equally important is the Night of Qadr.

    Narrated Aisha:

    ‏ تَحَرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْوِتْرِ مِنَ الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَان‏‏‏‏

    Allah's Messenger () said:

"Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan."

    Narrated Abu Huraira

    The Prophet () said:

"Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."

Not reciting part or all of the Holy Quran during Ramadan is not considered sinful. It simply means missing out on a unique chance to earn countless blessings and rewards.
